Kirk Stoller
Red Cake appreciates the visual simplicity of Kirk's sculpture. We also appreciate the effort it takes to make such effortlessly simple work. Behind each piece is a tiny history of collecting, matching, assembling, disassembling, sewing, sawing, sanding, and reassembling. And for Red Cake, we like the thought of that history almost as much as we like the final object itself.
Kirk is a San Francisco based artist who has exhibited in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has a BA in French from Portland State University, an MFA from UC Berkeley, and was a recipient of the Headlands Center of the Arts MFA Studio Residency.
